Hi Everyone – this blog is all about the twitter account that we created for Washington DC traffic. You can visit the twitter account by going here:
Right now if you subscribe to the account you will be getting 24 hour updates about DC traffic alerts. We are scouring the net now to find more RSS feed alerts to add to the updates. If you know of any please let us know!
We are working on some of the details and features that we would like this to have. One is that you can turn the notifications on when you are driving and off when you are not. We would also like you to be able receive alerts about specific areas, rather than the whole beltway.
Well, enjoy and give us any feedback.

do you mean road traffic or web traffic? =)

haha – dont really care about the traffic. Just want to have a useful easy way to avoid traffic.
So, we need more rss feeds about road traffic.

Any chance you could actually slice the main feed into sub feeds? Like have a Baltimore feed, a Beltway feed and a NoVA feed?

Dave, good suggestion. Originally the feeds were denoted by location. We’re doing some tweaking to bring that back again. Are you suggesting there be multiple twitter accounts for each location, that are aggregated to the beltway?

I like it too. Been thinking of how to solve the whole partition thing since folks are only hitting parts of the beltway. Maybe do it by typical routes.
Like 66 to baltimore. 66 to the southeast. Then southeast to baltimore?
